Today (28 April 2025), Mr. Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, Director of the Office of Trade Policy and Strategy (OTPS), Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, revealed that the OTPS has been monitoring the international trade situation in the Trump 2.0 era, as the United States has a policy of increasing tariffs on imported goods, including the cancellation of the minimum tax exemption (De Minimis) measure for Chinese goods, and China has responded by increasing the import tariffs on goods from the United States at the same high rate, which will directly and indirectly affect Thai agricultural trade.
